At Beaches Negril, the Grande Luxe King / Double (GLK / GLD) offers the starting price point. These are the most affordable rooms at the resort, and the ones we recommend to families who want the complete Beaches experience without a specific room preference but with a clear budget.
Located in the Savannah buildings in Reggaeville on floors one through three and the Santa Cruz buildings in Island Village on floors one through three, both sections put your room near Pirates Island Waterpark and the central pool. There is no oceanview at this room level which is really the honest tradeoff for the $323 starting price.
The GLK has a king bed, a twin daybed with trundle, and a flat-screen TV, and it can accommodate up to four, with a bistro set on your patio or balcony. The GLD has two double beds, and rollaway beds are available on request in either room, giving families with younger children an option without having to move into a larger room. The en-suite bathroom has a tub and shower combination, and even with Luxury level, you have complete resort access to every restaurant, bar, pool, waterpark, kids camp, and water sports activities.
The comparison most of our clients ask us about is the GLK versus the LK in the Montpelier buildings. both are Luxury level and have similar bed configurations but the LK is $408 per guest per night, in Calypso Cove’s Montpelier buildings with a partial oceanview. The GLK is $323 per guest per night, in Reggaeville or Island Village with a garden view and better access to the waterpark.
So what would be the upgrade from the Grande Luxe King / Double (GLK / GLD)? If you want to be in the same buildings, we’d recommend the GCK and GCD, but it adds concierge service at only $359 per guest per night. For $36 more per night, you move from Luxury to Concierge level in the same location.
