Grand Luxe Family Rooms – GLC

At Beaches Negril, the Grand Luxe Family Room – GLC is the two-room option for families who need some extra room but don’t need the services of a concierge or butler. We’ve stayed in this room category, and by the views, it’s indistinguishable from a concierge-level room.

When you enter the master bedroom, it features a king-sized bed with a pullout sofa, its own full bathroom, and its own private balcony with a bistro set facing the tropical gardens. The second room has two double beds, its own full bathroom, and its own private balcony. The rooms connect internally through a shared door.

While you don’t have access to the concierge services, this luxury-level room is still all-inclusive, with daily housekeeping and standard resort amenities. This is one of our top recommendations for a family of five to seven where the parents want their own room, and the kids want theirs. Best of all, the Grand Luxe Family Room – GLC is offered at a price point significantly below the concierge connecting rooms.

For a family of six or seven, one GLC booking often costs less than booking two separate standard rooms and gives you the connected access that two rooms can’t provide.

The Savannah buildings in Reggae Village and the Santa Cruz buildings in Island Village both face the resort’s garden side rather than the beach, so your view will be tropical landscaping rather than the ocean, but from our experience, we found the views here to be totally fine, especially for the price they’re offered at.

For families where the kids are most interested in the Pirates Island Waterpark and the pools during the day, and the room is mainly for sleeping and getting ready, this is a great option to consider. Now for families who want that oceanview, the concierge tier rooms in the BCK/BCD category give you that view at a modest price increase. The Grand Luxe Family Rooms locations in Reggae Village and Island Village put you close to the waterpark and the main pool, regardless of which building you end up in.

All rooms include a fully stocked refrigerator with water, juice, and soda, local beer and Robert Mondavi wines, along with TVs in both rooms and daily housekeeping. Now, one of the things we love about Beaches is that even luxury-level rooms offer all standard resort amenities with full access to every restaurant, bar, pool, water park, water sports, kids camp, and entertainment program at Beaches Negril. In the Luxury level, you have a little more work with making reservations at the Concierge desk located in the main lobby, but aside from that, there are no other major differences in luxury vs. concierge level for this room.

The GLC’s direct comparison with connecting rooms would be the Tropical Oceanview Concierge Family Rooms (BCC), which has the same connection between both rooms and separate balconies, but at the concierge level with a dedicated concierge team from 7am to 10 pm. The BCC is on the third floor across all three villages and features an ocean view as well.
