Choosing the top-rated Sandals resort involves more than comparing nightly rates and looking for the weekly 777 deals. Airfare to eight Caribbean destinations varies greatly by departure city, and from some US markets, the flight cost can be more than the difference between a club or butler level room option.
The Best Caribbean Resorts Sandals Airfare Index tracks roundtrip main cabin economy fares from 10 major US departure cities to all eight Sandals destination airports. Data is updated monthly. The methodology and collection date are in the disclosure section below.
Hi! We’re Jonathan and Angela Patton, the Sandals Chairman’s Royal Club Diamond Elite advisory team behind Rivage Travel and Best Caribbean Resorts. We’ve booked over 2,800 Sandals and Beaches vacations and specialize exclusively in the Sandals and Beaches resort brand.
Today, we’re going to give you all the information needed to make the most informed decision about when to travel and how much you can expect the complete Sandals experience to fully cost.
Before we get into the city-by-city airfare comparison tables, there is one important finding that we discovered during our research that we want to share with you.
The eight Sandals destination countries fall into three distinct tiers for US flight access, and the tier your destination falls into affects the cost and time you spend traveling. Let me explain…
Tier 1: High Access, Competitive Fares:
Jamaica (MBJ) is the most accessible Sandals destination from virtually every US city on this list. Nassau/Bahamas (NAS) is a competitive second that also comes with the ability to clear customs in Nassau, vs. in the United States. Both have nonstop service from most major hubs and active low-cost carrier competition that keeps fares down.
Tier 2: Moderate Access, Mid-range Fares:
Barbados (BGI) and Antigua (ANU) have nonstop service from key East Coast hubs, but require connecting flights from interior and West Coast cities. Grenada (GND) falls here too: Delta and JetBlue offer nonstop service from Atlanta and New York, but other cities require connections.
Tier 3: Limited US Access, Higher Fares:
Curacao (CUR) has direct service from Miami, Atlanta, and New York, but requires connecting itineraries elsewhere. St. Lucia (UVF) has the fewest US direct routes and the highest average fares of any Sandals destination. Saint Vincent (SVD) has very limited nonstop service to the US mainland: every itinerary from every city on this list, except Miami, JFK, and Atlanta, requires at least one connection.
Lastly, if you’re researching airfare pricing for Beaches resorts, we’ve written about this in depth and recommend that you read our 2026 Beaches Resort Airfare Pricing Index.

Most listed U.S. gateways offer nonstop service to Jamaica, making MBJ one of the easier Sandals destinations to reach.
Jamaica (MBJ) Airfare Gap Analysis: By air, MBJ is the most accessible Sandals resorts destination from every city on this list. Active carrier competition, including Southwest and Frontier on key routes, keeps fares lower than in any other country Sandals operates in. If you have flexibility in your destination and cost is a leading factor, Jamaica is the clear leader in overall value.

Most listed U.S. gateways offer nonstop service to Nassau, making The Bahamas one of the easier Caribbean destinations to reach.
Nassau (NAS) Airfare Gap Analysis: Nassau is the second most accessible Sandals destination. East Coast cities have multiple nonstop options, and Nassau airfares are among the lowest of any Sandals island. Sandals Royal Bahamian is one of the brand’s most established properties, and the short flight from most US hubs makes it an efficient destination for shorter stays.

Nonstop service is available from six of the ten major U.S. gateways in this comparison. Four cities currently require connecting flights.
Barbados (BGI) Airfare Gap Analysis: New York, Boston, Miami, and DC have nonstop options that make Barbados accessible and reasonably priced. Chicago, Dallas, and LA have a higher cost in terms of airfare and overall travel time. Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados share the same property, and guests are allowed to experience both in a single trip.
Sandals Antigua Property: Sandals Grande Antigua

| MCO | $554+ | Off-peak | Connecting only | JetBlue via JFK |
Nonstop or seasonal nonstop service is available from five of the ten major U.S. gateways in this comparison.
Antigua (ANU) Airfare Gap Analysis: Antigua sits at the upper edge of the pricing points. New York and DC have JetBlue nonstop options. Atlanta has seasonal Delta service. From Chicago, Dallas, LA, and most Southern cities, every itinerary requires a connection, typically through Miami or New York. April and September are the best-priced windows across most departure cities.
Sandals property: Sandals Grenada

| MCO | $580+ | Off-peak | Connecting only | JetBlue, Frontier |
Nonstop or seasonal nonstop service is available from four of the ten major U.S. gateways in this comparison.
Grenada (GND) Airfare Gap Analysis: Atlanta and New York travelers have the best access to Sandals Grenada with Delta and JetBlue year-round nonstops. Miami has direct American service. Every other city connects, typically through JFK or MIA. February is the cheapest month from most markets and aligns with Grenada’s dry season.
Sandals Curacao property: Sandals Royal Curacao
| City | Average Round-Trip Range | Cheapest Month | Nonstop | Key Airlines |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ATL | $332–$753 | January | Yes (Delta), Connecting (Copa/Avianca) | Delta, Copa via PTY, Avianca |

| DCA | $268–$480 | Off-peak | Connecting only | JetBlue, American |
| MCO | $480+ | Off-peak | Connecting only | JetBlue, American |
Nonstop service is available from four of the ten major U.S. gateways in this comparison.
Curacao (CUR) Airfare Gap Analysis: Miami, Atlanta and JFK are the only US cities with reliable nonstop service to Curacao. Every other city connects, most through Miami (American) or Panama City/Bogota (Copa/Avianca). Curacao sits outside the Caribbean’s main flight arc, which is why it requires longer itineraries from most US cities. Sandals Royal Curacao opened in 2023, and US carrier route expansion is still developing. July is the cheapest booking window, according to FlightsFinder data.
Sandals properties: Sandals Grande St. Lucian, Sandals Regency La Toc, Sandals Halcyon Beach

| ATL | $636–$1,000+ | February/April | Yes (Delta) | American, Delta via ATL/MIA |

| DCA | $600–$900 | April | Connecting only | American, JetBlue |
| MCO | $600–$900 | April | Connecting only | American via MIA |
Four of the ten major gateway cities offer nonstop service, while six cities require connecting flights.
St. Lucia (UVF) Airfare Gap Analysis: St. Lucia has the highest fares of any Sandals destination for most US cities. American Airlines operates the primary US – UVF nonstop from Miami and Charlotte. Most every other market connects, with the most common routing through Miami or JFK. April is consistently the cheapest month across all departure cities. The three Sandals St. Lucia properties give clients more resort options at this destination than anywhere else, which can offset the higher airfare when a longer stay or multi-property trip is planned.
Sandals Property: Sandals Saint Vincent
Important: Saint Vincent (SVD) has the most limited US nonstop network of any Sandals destination. Nonstop service exists from Miami (year-round), Atlanta (seasonal), and New York (monthly). Every other US city connects, typically through Miami, Barbados, or Trinidad.
| City | Average Round-Trip Range | Cheapest Month | Nonstop | Key Airlines |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ATL | $400–$700 | Off-peak | Yes (Delta) | Frontier, Delta via BGI |
| JFK | $500–$800 | Off-peak | Yes (Delta, JetBlue) | Delta, Caribbean Airlines, JetBlue |
| MIA | $450–$700 | Off-peak | Yes (American) | American, Caribbean Airlines |
| ORD | $600–$900 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | JetBlue |
| DFW | $600–$900 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | American |
| LAX | $700–$1,100 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | Multiple connections |
| BOS | $550–$850 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | JetBlue, Caribbean Airlines |
| CLT | $550–$800 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | American |
| DCA | $500–$800 | Off-peak | Connecting (MIA or POS) | JetBlue, Caribbean Airlines |
| MCO | $450–$750 | Off-peak | Connecting (BGI or POS) | Frontier, Southwest |
Three of the ten major gateway cities offer nonstop service, while seven cities require connecting flights.
Saint Vincent (SVD) Airfare Gap Analysis: The lack of US direct service to SVD is the single most important flight planning consideration for Sandals Saint Vincent. A connection through Barbados adds roughly 4 to 6 hours of total travel time each way compared to direct-flight destinations. The upside: Barbados is itself a Sandals destination, so a multi-property itinerary pairing Sandals Royal Barbados or Sandals Barbados with Sandals Saint Vincent is a natural routing that turns the connection into part of the experience.
| Destination | Airport | Typical U.S. Round-Trip Range | U.S. Nonstop Available | Relative Flight Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jamaica | MBJ | $250–$760 | Yes (most U.S. hubs) | Lowest |
| Bahamas | NAS | $247–$641 | Yes (most East/Central hubs) | Low |
| Barbados | BGI | $314–$811 | Yes (East Coast only) | Moderate |
| Antigua | ANU | $357–$811 | Yes (East Coast only) | Moderate |
| Grenada | GND | $368–$800 | Yes: ATL, JFK, MIA, CLT (seasonal) | Moderate-High |
| Curaçao | CUR | $221–$740 | Yes (East Coast only) | Moderate-High |
| St. Lucia | UVF | $406–$1,300 | Yes (East Coast only) | High |
| Saint Vincent | SVD | $400–$1,100 | Yes (East Coast only) | Highest |
A visual comparison of which Sandals destinations on average are the easiest or most expensive to reach by air.
If you are choosing between destinations: Build the total trip cost first. Start with our estimated Sandals Trip Planning Calculator, to get the estimated resort nightly rate, add the airfare range for your departure city, and compare destinations side by side. A Sandals resort that appears more expensive on the website may cost less when the total trip is priced, particularly if you are comparing a Jamaica property against St. Lucia or Saint Vincent from a Midwest or West Coast city. If you’re in the research phase, we highly recommend bookmarking and checking out our Sandals Promotions Tracker, which calculates all current promos and lists available discounts.
If you have a specific destination: Use the table for your departure city to identify the best booking window and which airlines are competing on that route. The cities with nonstop service have more fare competition; cities relying on single-carrier connections will have less pricing flexibility.
For Saint Vincent travelers specifically: Call us before booking. The SVD connection routing has more variables than any other Sandals destination: airlines, timing, whether to build a Barbados, St. Lucia or Grenada stay into the trip, and whether the multi-property itinerary changes the pricing in a meaningful way. This is one route where booking through an advisor with SVD experience is worth the call.
Best universal value window: September and October are the cheapest booking months for the majority of routes in this index. They sit between summer peak and winter holiday pricing and align with Sandals Fall promotion windows, including the 777 offer.
Several Sandals destinations have more than one property. The airfare context matters differently for split stays:
Jamaica: Six properties (four currently open), two resorts with overwater bungalows, all served by MBJ. The cheapest overall destination with the most intra-island flexibility. No additional flights needed to move between properties.
St. Lucia: Three properties, all served by UVF. The higher airfare is amortized across a longer stay or multiple resort experiences, which changes the per-night math.
Barbados: Two properties (Sandals Barbados and Sandals Royal Barbados) on the same site. One airfare covers both.
Barbados + Saint Vincent: Natural pairing given SVD’s connection through BGI. Two destinations, one extra flight segment between them.
Collection date: June 2026 Sources: Expedia, Google Flights, Kayak, and Skyscanner. All platforms draw from ARC Airlines Reporting Corporation airline sales data. What is included: Economy round-trip. Prices reflect typical fare ranges across 2026 travel dates. What is not included: Baggage fees, seat upgrades, or optional charges. Taxes included. Nonstop availability: Confirmed at time of collection. Route schedules are seasonal and subject to change. Saint Vincent caveat: SVD fare ranges are estimated from available booking data. This route has less OTA coverage than other Sandals destinations due to limited US service. Ranges may have wider variance than other destinations.

Jonathan and Angela Patton are Sandals Chairman’s Royal Club Diamond Elite travel advisors: fewer than five US agencies qualify at this level annually. We book all eight Sandals destination countries and have personally stayed at every Sandals resort in multiple room categories.
Jamaica is the cheapest Sandals destination to fly to from virtually every US city. Sandals has more properties in Jamaica than any other country, and Montego Bay (MBJ) benefits from active competition among budget carriers, including Southwest and Frontier, on key routes. Average roundtrip fares from major US hubs run $250 to $550, which is materially lower than any other Sandals country. Nassau, Bahamas is the second most affordable option for East Coast travelers.
Jamaica (MBJ), Nassau/Bahamas (NAS), Barbados (BGI), Antigua (ANU), and Grenada (GND) all have nonstop service from select US cities. Miami has the broadest nonstop network — it connects directly to all eight Sandals destination countries including Curacao and St. Lucia. Atlanta and New York have strong nonstop options across most destinations. Chicago, Dallas, and Los Angeles have limited nonstop access outside of Jamaica. Saint Vincent has nonstop service from Miami year-round, seasonal service from Atlanta, and monthly service from New York.
Miami has year-round nonstop service to Argyle International Airport (SVD) in Saint Vincent. Atlanta has seasonal nonstop service and New York has monthly nonstop service. Travelers from all other US cities connect, most commonly through Barbados (BGI) or Trinidad (POS). Caribbean Airlines and Frontier are the primary carriers serving US-SVD routes. Because Saint Vincent has the most limited US access of any Sandals destination, we recommend booking flights before finalizing your resort dates — route availability affects which travel windows are practical.
September and October are the best value months across nearly every Sandals destination and US departure city. They sit between the summer peak and the winter holiday pricing window, which makes them the lowest-cost travel window of the year for most Caribbean routes. April and May are the second-best value window, after spring break pricing clears. January can also offer competitive fares from select markets after the New Year holiday peak drops off. These windows align with Sandals’ promotional calendar, including the fall promotion season when room rates also tend to drop.
Yes, with one important adjustment to your budget planning. Travelers from Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles face higher airfares and longer connecting itineraries to most Sandals destinations compared to East Coast travelers. Jamaica (MBJ) is the exception — Southwest and American both operate nonstop Midwest service to Montego Bay, keeping fares competitive. For other Sandals destinations from interior and West Coast cities, build $150 to $400 per person in additional airfare into your total trip budget compared to what a New York or Miami traveler pays. The resort experience is identical regardless of where you fly from — the airfare gap is real but manageable when planned for correctly.
